In case you missed it, here are the highlights from Monday’s Euro 2012 Group D match between France and England in Donetsk, Ukraine.
The score
A rather surprising goal-scorer in Joleon Lescott gave England the lead in the 30th minute, but a quality strike by Samir Nasri leveled the game nine minutes later.
What this result means
England manager Roy Hodgson will be extremely happy with the result and his team’s performance, although they did start to wilt as the match went on. A loss would have been a disaster. Laurent Blanc might be upset about conceding, but France proved capable of fighting back and ended on a positive.
