Vive Les Bleus

In case you missed it, here are the highlights from Friday's Euro 2012 Group D match between Ukraine and France in Donetsk.

The score

Two quick goals coming out of the halftime break by Jeremy Menez and Yohan Cabaye were enough to give France a well-deserved 2-0 victory.

What this result means

The victory leaves France in poll position in Group D going into the final match against Sweden on Tuesday, needing only a draw to advance into the quarter-finals. Ukraine was very poor on this night and was unable to build off a great performance against Sweden. Depending on result in the groups second match (England v Sweden), a draw would see the hosts only need a single point in their final match, but if either win than all three points are a must against England in Donetsk on Tuesday.
